The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) was founded in 1976 as a society under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Affiliated with the All India Football Federation, the MFA is the nodal body that governs football in Meghalaya and encourages, fosters and promotes the sport throughout the state.
The MFA’s highest-level body is the General Council, which consists of the President, four Vice-Presidents, the Secretary General, two Joint Secretaries and the Treasurer. Additionally, five persons elected to the Executive Committee at the Annual General Meeting from among the representatives of any affiliated unit of the MFA will be in the General Council.
The other representatives will include Life Members, three representatives from the District Sports Association, two from the Sub-Divisional/Administrative Unit Sports Association and four from the State Capital Sports Association (ie Shillong Sports Association).
